Shown above is a natural spinel of vibrant pinkish-red color. The origin of this gem material is uncertain, but its color and clarity suggest that it came from either Burma or Ceylon. The faceting, performed in Russia, is very good. The overall symmetry, proportions, facet symmetry, facet meets, polish, and scintillation are all very good. This gem would make a gorgeous centerpiece in a pendant, pin, or special occasion ring
