Pink Spinel from the Pamir Mountains, Tajikistan

Shown above is a natural spinel of deep pink color. The origin of this gem material is the Pamir Mountains in the CIR republic of Tajikistan. The clarity of this gem is excellent. The faceting, done in Russia, is very good. The overall symmetry, proportions, facet symmetry, facet meets, polish and scintillation are all very good. There is a small culet (tiny flat facet on the tip of the pavilion) on the bottom of the gem. This is a very high quality gemstone that would make a gorgeous centerpiece in a pendant, pin, or special occasion ring.
Note: Spinel is not normally subjected to any enhancing treatment.
