San Carlos peridot comes in a wide array of yellowish-green hues. The gem shown above is a fine example of the bright yellowish-green peridot from this location. Most San Carlos peridot is rather heavily included. It is difficult to find a piece of rough gem material from this area that can be cut into an eye-clean stone. This gem is nearly eye-clean. The inclusions that are present are located towards the edges. The Pulsar Cut, a design by Bruce Harding, delivers good light return and a very pleasing pattern of light scintillation. This is an expertly crafted and very brilliant gem that would make a beautiful centerpiece in a ring, pin, or pendant.
