Reb Beryl from the Ruby Violet Mine, Wah Wah Mountains, Utah

No. 902X:
Oval Cut, VVS (GIA Type III Gem Class), 0.174 carats, 4.0 x 2.2 mm, faceted in the USA, $400.20 Sold

Red beryl is arguably one of the rarest of all gem materials. This is a true American gem. To date, deep red beryl of this color has been found in only one location in the entire world: the Ruby Violet Mine in the Wah Wah Mountains of Utah. Gem production from this mine has always been rather small, production is costly, but the color of this rare form of beryl is absolutely stunning. The deep "neon red" color rivals or surpasses that of the finest rubies or spinels. (The pink highlights in the above image are an artifact of the photographic process. This gem material is a deep uniform red color.) If you are a gem collector interested in rare stones, here is something for you. Shown above is a rare red beryl gemstone that would look stunning either set in jewelry, or simply sitting in your collection.

If you don't see herein a red beryl of the size or shape you wish, give me a call. I will put you in contact with the Ruby Violet mine owners. They have a good supply of red beryl gemstones and matrix specimens.
